Classroom tools

These are not the lesson itself. They are the guide, cards, forms and lists a trainer prints and uses while running a session.

What this page is

Not the lesson itself. Guides, cards, forms and lists the trainer prints.

Who uses it

The trainer running the session. Items for the group are marked separately.

How to use it

Sorted as before the session, in class, and after. Download or print the pack.

Before the session

The trainer reads this alone. It is not handed to the group.

Trainer’s guide

Trainer’s guide

This is not the lesson itself. It is the order that lets you run a session to the same standard tomorrow.

Who uses it
A teacher, youth worker or the trainer who runs the session
When
Read once before you deliver a module for the first time

Order

  1. Read About and the conceptual framework so the aim of the project is clear.
  2. Choose the module that fits your group.
  3. Use the train-the-trainer notes for method.
  4. Print the cards, checklists and workbook on this page.
  5. Give the short pre-test at the start and the same questions as a post-test at the end.
  6. When you finish, share the pack with your partners.

Session frame

Age
14–18
Language
Turkish or English
Method
Non-formal education: group work, discussion, field practice
Safe space
Participation is voluntary. Real names and trauma stories are not required. Leaving is allowed. Language support is given.

In the room, with young people

Cards, lists and the notebook. Print them and put them on the table.

Activity pack

European values cards

The six values in Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union. Each card is one value. On the back, the young person writes where they saw — or did not see — that value this week.

Who uses it
Ages 14–18; the trainer facilitates
When
Especially in European-citizenship and democracy sessions, 15–20 minutes

Cut the cards or write them on separate sheets. Give them to pairs. Each pair reads one card, names one example, then swaps.

Human dignity

No one is a means.

Freedom

Expression, conscience and movement.

Democracy

Voice and accountability.

Equality

Gender, opportunity and equality before the law.

Rule of law

No arbitrary decision.

Human rights

Including persons belonging to minorities.

Back of the card: “Where did I see / not see this this week?”

Activity pack

Claim-check list

Seven questions before a claim is shared. The point is not a true/false drill; it is being able to write the uncertainty.

Who uses it
Ages 14–18; media and disinformation sessions
When
After a claim, image or story is chosen, 10–15 minutes

Questions

  1. What exactly is the claim? Write it in one sentence.
  2. Who says it? Does that person have an interest?
  3. When and where was it said?
  4. Is there primary evidence? (official text, original record, first source)
  5. What does a reliable source on the other side say?
  6. If it is an image, did it appear somewhere else? (reverse search)
  7. Did I write “I am not sure” before sharing?

Verdict box: true / false / not sure yet. If you are not sure, do not share.

Activity pack

Digital safety list

Young people tick this on their own device. The trainer does not collect the paper. The aim is a habit, not shame.

Who uses it
Ages 14–18; digital-safety session
When
On their own phone or account, 10 minutes

Check

  • My passwords are stored and are not the same on every account. Important accounts have a second check (a code on the phone).
  • I reviewed app permissions for camera, location and contacts.
  • Location and microphone are off when I do not need them.
  • I decided in advance who may see a personal photo.
  • If there is cyberbullying: I take a screenshot, I go to a trusted adult, I report it on the platform.
  • I do not share someone else’s photo, name or phone number without consent.

Participant workbook

Session notebook

One page of notes. It is filled in like a notebook; it is not marked. The sentence taken home is the family task.

Who uses it
The young person in the session
When
At the end of the session, 8–10 minutes

What I write today

  • One right I learned today
  • One duty I take on today
  • One claim I checked
  • One thing I heard from another culture
  • One small environmental action I can take
  • One sentence I take home
  • One item I would propose to the club or the class

After the session

A short measure, an observation, feedback and a certificate of attendance.

Monitoring and evaluation

Short pre-test and post-test

This sheet does not replace the longer test on the site. It is the short scale you hold in the room. 1 = strongly disagree, 5 = strongly agree.

Who uses it
The same young people, at the start and at the end
When
Four minutes at the start, four at the end. The same five sentences, in the same order

Sentences

  1. I can describe my EU citizenship rights.
  2. I can judge the reliability of online information.
  3. I can name one element of European common culture.
  4. I can link a local environmental issue to EU policy.
  5. I can name one civic-participation route.

Gain = post-test minus pre-test. The result is filed in the Hatay monitoring folder. The longer test is on the Assessment page.

Not for grading the class. For fixing the next session and leaving a short record for Hatay’s monitoring.
