Purpose
In the KA220-YOU-CD412358 application, C1 defines social citizenship under four headings: social welfare, social security, social services and social policy. The aim is that young people aged 14–18 recognise these headings as rights and duties and connect them to daily life. Post-disaster solidarity practices in the Hatay e-book are read in the same session as the European social model.

Content
The content follows the C1 catalogue: social welfare, social security, social services, social policy; the ban on discrimination; and equal access to education and health. The Light Within Our Hearts, the Disability Social Entrepreneurship Centre and HayatHatay, from the Hatay e-book, are local applications of those rights.

Learning and teaching process
After about twenty minutes of concept input come case cards and, where possible, a visit to a social-service unit or a talk with a practitioner. Sociology, psychology and philosophy may use the same rights language. Non-formal methods are discussion, station work and an empathy walk.

Evaluation
A pre/post Likert item (“I can describe my social rights”), an exit ticket, a trainer observation form and an optional short family interview are used. Weak and strong points are reviewed after the eight-month pilot.
European Union values
Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union lists human dignity and equality among the Union’s values. Discussion question: do disaster, migration or disability cancel a young person’s social rights in Europe?
Club practice Once a month the European Youth and Culture Club (PR1) holds a rights desk. Young people connect one social right, one local institution and one peer example in the same session.

Visit a social-service unit
The group visits a social unit in its own city. The aim is to see what the unit does, who applies and what support is given. In Hatay, examples include the Disability Social Entrepreneurship Centre, a social-services office or a Light Within Our Hearts / YİDER desk. Beneficiaries are not asked about their private lives.

The KA220 application defines the learning triangle as the young person, the trainer and the family. In this task three short questions go home; one anonymous sentence returns to class. The aim is to make the C1 social-rights language visible at home.
