Materials
- An appointment with the unit
- Parental consent
- A five-question sheet
Steps
-
1
The trainer chooses a unit in their own city and books a time. In Hatay, for example, the Disability Social Entrepreneurship Centre or a social-services office may be used.
-
2
The group prepares five questions. For example: Who may use the unit? How do you apply? What support exists? Who works here? How do young people get here?
-
3
For about twenty-five minutes the group walks the unit or listens to a staff member. Young people take notes.
-
4
In the last ten minutes each person writes three short sentences: the unit’s name, what it does, who applies.
Inclusion
No personal questions are put to beneficiaries. Photos are taken only with the unit’s written permission. File numbers and real names are not written down.
At the end of the session
Each participant leaves a three-sentence field note: where the group went, what the unit does and who applies.
Home task
One sentence at home is enough. For example: “Today we visited a social unit; they do this work there.” No person’s name is given.
