Purpose
C3 brings the right to take part in cultural life, freedom of the arts and the protection of ideas and works down to ages 14–18. The KA220 application’s shared European cultural elements are games, folk dance, music, crafts and shadow play. The aim is to make those elements visible in the five partner countries and to write participation as a right.

Step
Content
The right to take part in cultural life, recognising cultural elements, freedom of the arts, the protection of ideas and works, and the culture–art–society relationship are taught. The five elements in the application (games, folk dance, music, crafts, shadow play) are the spine of the map.

Step
Learning and teaching process
Where possible, a short artist talk, workshop or recital is held. In class a shared-element map is built; language, literature, music and physical education may contribute to the same session. EUROPE-IDEA’s inclusive cultural line is the method.

Step
Evaluation
A cultural-object or story portfolio, peer feedback and a club showcase are used. On the coordinator-survey item “I know European common culture”, the target is a rise of about fifteen points.
European Union values
Article 2 of the Treaty on European Union protects human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities, and pluralism. Discussion question: does a young person’s culture have a place in shared European culture?
Club practice The club makes one cultural element from each of the five partner countries visible in the same session. Elements are taken from the application list: a game, folk dance, music, a craft or shadow play.
