Upcycling and circular economy

The Pallas e-book defines, in the IBC and Upcycling practices, turning waste into equal or higher value. C2 lists consumer rights (repair, return, misleading advertising) and circular economy in the same pack. This task draws a product path and writes one consumer right.

40 minutes · Youth and culture club

Materials

  • Waste material or a product picture
  • Price / label paper

Steps

  1. 1

A product path is drawn: raw material, making, sale, waste.

  2. 2

A value from the waste that is equal or higher is proposed, following the Pallas definition.

  3. 3

One consumer right is written: repair, return, or a complaint against misleading advertising.

Inclusion

Making an object is not required; a drawing or a spoken pitch is enough.

At the end of the session

A one-page idea and an ethics note (“who is not harmed”) are handed in.

Home task

The family watches household waste for one week. The observation returns to class in one sentence; a number is not required.
